Red Hot Chili Peppers preparan un nuevo disco con John Frusciante
El batería Chad Smith confirma que se encuentran escribiendo nuevo material y anuncia gira de festivales para este verano
Fue una de las últimas grandes noticias musicales de finales del año pasado, y a muchos nos pilló por sorpresa. John Frusciante volvía a Red Hot Chili Peppers después de 10 años lejos del grupo, sustituyendo a Josh Klinghoffer.
Con una renovación de estas características, no era difícil imaginar que el grupo volvía con nuevos proyectos, y no solo para que Frusciante se subiera al escenario con el resto de la banda para tocar en directo. El batería Chad Smith ha confirmado que se encuentran «escribiendo un nuevo disco».
«Estamos emocionados, los festivales son por ahora los únicos espectáculos reservados. Por ahora, nos concentraremos principalmente en nuevas canciones y escribiremos un nuevo disco. Todos estamos muy emocionados de hacer nueva música», ha dicho el miembro de la banda en una entrevista para Rolling Stone.
«Nos enfocaremos mayoritariamente en nuevas canciones y en hacer un nuevo disco», continúa el batería del grupo, agregando que sus únicos conciertos este año serán en los festivales que tienen agendados. «Estamos muy emocionados por hacer nueva música», finalizó Chad Smith.

Los Red Hot Chili Peppers, tal y como ha confirmado Smith, tienen ya llena su agenda de giras con varias apariciones en festivales, incluido el Festival Hangout de Gulf Shores, Boston Calling, BottleRock en Napa Valley. Aún está por confirmar si actuarán en nuestro país y en qué fecha.
Era ya muy bien sabido que los Chili Peppers estaban pensando en hacer un nuevo disco, el primero desde The Getaway de 2016, pero hasta el momento la participación de Frusciante no era oficial.
